The first playhouse of 2026 has been built and delivered to a local family!
Maumee Valley Habitat playhouse partnered with Waite High School’s art department and Construction Academy to build a playhouse. Students designed, assembled, and decorated a playhouse as part of their art and construction classes. At the end of the day, many of the students were able to present the playhouse to the recipient family. Sponsored by Carter Lumber and Toledo Refining Company, this playhouse was the perfect example of the community coming together to build something beautiful!
Students, faculty, and partners were in for a surprise, when we learned that not only were the parents Waite High School graduates, but the father is a contractor in the refinery’s dispatch office! Unexpected connections like these are what make the Playhouse Project so special.
With the first playhouse in its new home, we can’t wait to see what other beautiful little houses get built and designed!
