Policy Success: Increasing revenues for Housing Trust Fund
The Ohio Housing Trust Fund will receive an additional $2.5 - $3.5 million per year, bringing the total to an estimated $50 million for the biennium, by increasing the per-page recording fee amount, which is how it is funded. These dollars are used for a variety of housing related services, including to supporting homeless services, repair and rehab owner and rental units, new construction for rental properties, and housing counseling. This increase means that an estimated additional 20.342 individuals will have increased access to an affordable home.
