Meet Marquia—a beacon of resilience, a testament to the strength of the human spirit, and now, a proud Habitat homeowner.
Marquia's journey began over two years ago when she was accepted into Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity's homeownership program in March 2022. A single mother who dreamed of a better life for her family.
Despite Marquia's pleas, her landlord remained indifferent to their plight, unwilling to address the issues that plagued their home.
To her, homeownership was more than just a dream—it was a promise of stability, security, and the freedom to create a future filled with hope and possibility.
With determination blazing in her eyes, Marquia embarked on her journey with Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity, determined to build a better life for her family brick by brick, nail by nail.
Over the last two years, Marquia has worked hard in Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity's Homeownership program, completing over 250 hours of sweat equity with unwavering dedication and enthusiasm. From hammering nails to painting walls, she embraced every task with a sense of purpose and pride, knowing that each step brought her closer to her dream of homeownership.
