Small playhouses grew big inspiration for Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity’s Playhouse Project Blitz Build on Thursday, June 1, at Fifth Third Field in downtown Toledo.
28 different volunteer teams built 31 custom playhouses designed for 31 local families. Participants built for five hours before families arrived at 4:00 PM to attend a special send-off ceremony, in which families will meet the sponsor group who built their playhouse. Playhouses will be gifted to each family.

The Playhouse Project initiative provides an imaginary world where kids can dream, which inspires their development, leadership, creativity and more. "Playing house" is often the first-time children begin to think about what home means to them.
Playhouse builds are Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity's signature fundraising events. This experience offers a fun, dynamic, meaningful construction/team building experience for any group that wants to build. Proceeds from these little houses will help to build big houses in Lucas County.
