ReStore celebrates new Box Truck

Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Maumee celebrated a ribbon cutting event for the addition of a much needed new ReStore box truck.

A major grant from the Ohio EPA, in collaboration with The Andersons Fund Supporting Organization grant of the Greater Toledo Community Foundation, helped make this possible.

“This new truck will allow us to pick up more donations from generous donors in our community. Because of the unique material ReStore accepts for donation, over 600 TONS of construction material, demolition material, home furnishings, and appliance waste is diverted annually from Lucas County landfills, extending the life of these materials that otherwise would not be recycled.” said Michael McIntyre, Executive Director. “Additionally, Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity uses ReStore proceeds to help build and rehabilitate homes for Lucas County families.”

The Maumee Chamber and Toledo Chamber were attendance to celebrate the new truck.
