Rock The Block: Twice the Impact

Fifth Third Bank and Cleveland-Cliffs are proud sponsors of Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity’s Rock the Block events taking place at the same time in both the Junction and Birmingham neighborhoods on September 25th and 26th.

In partnership with the Junction Coalition and Birmingham community groups, volunteers will complete multiple neighborhood revitalization projects that include brush clean up, light painting projects, tire-pick up, and the construction of raised flower gardens for What Blooms on Blum community garden and benches for the Birmingham Library.

This event is an example of the transformational work that can be done when partners come together to drive change in a community and will give hope to the residents of both the Junction and Birmingham neighborhoods.

“We at Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity are humbled to have the opportunity to partner with these organizations to make a difference for the homeowners in this neighborhood. By us partnering together today, the residents of the Junction Neighborhood and Birmingham know that people are here for them!” Michael McIntyre, Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity Executive Director.

Rock the Block will have fewer volunteers than usual this year, as a result of COVID. Volunteers signed up in advance and had to go through a screening process on arrival each morning.
