Neighborhood Stabilization Program Provides Stabilizing Foundation

Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity receives Neighborhood Stabilization funding from the City of Toledo. With this funding, we acquire foreclosed and vacant properties and rehabilitate them into decent, sustainable and affordable homes.

This federal funding not only builds up communities in Lucas County, it also builds stronger futures for Habitat families, like Javanas'.

The Toledo native heard about Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity through a family member three years ago.

"I applied to the program because I thought it would be a great way for me and my son to get back on our feet."

Javana is able to attain her dream of stable, affordable housing after spending several years moving house to house. She will eventually pay back an affordable mortgage.
